Mission

The Challenge
Golfo Dulce is a globally unique tropical fjord in Costa Rica and the only place in the world where humpback whales from both hemispheres meet.
However, this natural paradise and home to countless living creatures is acutely endangered due to illegal construction projects, reckless tourism, planned large-scale projects (car ferry, additional marina, international airport), corruption, and environmental destruction.

Our Mission
Our mission is to protect Golfo Dulce as a unique global natural heritage site that must be preserved and protected at all costs.

The Measures
To this end, we will establish a rescue and research station. We combine nature conservation with volunteer work and professional legal assistance. Specifically, these are the following measures, in which everyone can participate:

01

Rescue & Research Station

Five buildings are planned: two accommodations for volunteers and volunteer supporters, a communal ranch, a research center, and a visitor information center.

Construction is scheduled for completion by the end of 2027.

The land has already been secured and is located in the rainforest in Playa Cacao, just few hundred meters from the coast.

Tasks include, among other things, surveying wildlife populations and preserving biodiversity, conducting scientific projects, actively protecting species, monitoring water quality, and protecting and reforesting the rainforest.

02

Volunteer programs

To implement and sustain this project, we not only rely on financial support but also need active on-site assistance. To this end, we are looking for skilled tradespeople, scientists, and volunteers who want to make a real difference in nature conservation and are able to do so here.

03

Legal Support

Unfortunately, actively fighting corruption, arbitrary government actions, or reckless construction projects requires the support of qualified attorneys. Specialized experts, in particular, represent a significant cost factor. Any attorney specializing in this field who would like to assist us on a pro bono basis is also most welcome.

04

Partnerships with Communities & Environmental Organizations

Close cooperation with local authorities and environmental protection agencies (SINAC & MINAE) is also crucial. Additionally, partnerships with global aid and conservation organizations are important.

05

Partnership with local fishermen & farmers

We also want to represent and support the legitimate interests of local fishermen and farmers. On the one hand, they are subject to arbitrary decisions by the authorities, and on the other, their economic livelihoods are threatened by environmentally harmful tourism.

06

Raise awareness

Although Golfo Dulce is truly unique, it remains largely unknown internationally. To protect this region, we must significantly raise awareness of it, particularly to combat “secret” deals and arbitrary deforestation.

To this end, we call on every influencer and media professional to actively support us.

Because every voice can save whales!
